Meet the Let's Talk Counselors

Cricket Braun, MS

Cricket is a Pre-doctoral Intern at CAPS. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England and is in the process of completing her doctoral degree there as well. Cricket enjoys working with diverse students with a wide range of concerns and has a special interest in identity development, the mental health and well-being of medical professionals, trauma and group therapy.



Maggie Riley, MS, NCC

Maggie Riley is a Nationally Certified Counselor who earned her Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Vermont. Maggie has been affiliated with UVM for many years as an undegrad, graduate student and employee of the university and understands the unique culture and needs of students at UVM. Maggie particularly enjoys group work and her special interests include family dynamics, intimate relationships, grief and loss, and spirituality.



Keith E. Smith, MS

Keith is a Senior Staff Counselor at CAPS, and also serves as the Men's Outreach Coordinator. Keith earned his Master's in Counseling from the University of Vermont. In addition to providing counseling, Keith facilitates numerous educational workshops and trainings across the UVM campus and in the greater Burlington community.

Let's Talk is a program that provides easy access to informal confidential consultations with counselors from Counseling and Psychiatry Services (CAPS). Counselors hold walk-in hours at sites around campus. Speaking with a Let’s Talk counselor can help provide insight, solutions, and information about other resources.
