The UVM Health Fee enables the services offered by the Center for Health and Wellbeing. This fee is included in each semester's tuition bill as part of the Full Time Comprehensive Fee.
The Health Fee covers:
- Student Health Services: Individual visits with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and dietitians.
- Counseling Center: Short-term counseling, group counseling, and outreach activities.
- Education and Outreach: Health and wellness promotion, alcohol and drug education, and sexual assault prevention.
- Athletic Medicine: Preventative education, medical care, treatment and rehabilitation for injuries and illnesses incurred by student athletes.
- Public health information and control of communicable disease.
The Health Fee does NOT cover:
- Laboratory work.
- UVM Psychiatry office visits.
- UVM Travel Clinic first visit.
- Orthopedic supplies (i.e. crutches, braces, etc).
- X-rays, specialist visits, hospitalizations, prescriptions.
- ANY CHWB services during the summer term UNLESS the Spring/Summer Health fee was already paid.
The Health Fee is mandatory for:
- Undergraduate, continuing education and certificate students enrolled in 9
or more credits.
- Graduate students enrolled in 9 or more credits.
- Medical students.
- Any student purchasing the UVM Student Health Insurance Plan (UVM SHIP).
- Graduate students with "Grad 903" status.
The Health Fee is optional for:
- Undergraduate, continuing education and certificate students enrolled in 6-8 credits.
- Graduate students enrolled in 5 - 8 credits.
- Graduate students with "Grad 902" status.
A fully paid Health Fee covers services to students from August 1 - July 31 of every year. Students who have paid the spring/summer Health Fee can access CHWB services through July 31. Continuing students and incoming fall semester students who have paid the Health Fee for the fall semester can begin accessing CHWB services on August 1.
