Travel Clinic
The Travel Clinic serves the needs of UVM students traveling to foreign countries for study abroad or for independent/personal travel. Students will meet with experienced nurses who will provide:- Up-to-date travel information specifically for the travel destination
- In-depth comprehensive information about medical issues related to the trip
- Required and recommended immunizations
- International Certificates of Vaccination/The World Health Organization Card (known as the Yellow WHO Card)
- Travel prescriptions (to be filled at the pharmacy of your choice)
- Medical supply kit
For optimum care and to adequately plan for receiving recommended immunizations, we recommend that students make an initial appointment at least 6 weeks prior to departure. Travel appointment availability is limited, which is another important reason to schedule early and avoid disappointment.
There is a one-time $75 Travel Clinic fee which covers visits with the nurses, information, and a medical supply kit. Immunization expenses and prescription costs are not covered by this fee. As with all other expenses incurred at Student Health, we do not bill insurance companies directly. We accept payment at the time of service, or we can bill the student's UVM account. It is the student's responsibility to determine insurance policy coverage for the one-time travel visit fee and associated immunizations and prescriptions.
There is a $25 fee no show fee if a student fails to cancel a Travel Clinic appointment without giving the office 24 hour notice. Appointments can be cancelled on-line via MyWellbeing.uvm.edu or by phone.
The Travel Clinic is located within Primary Care, on the ground floor of 425 Pearl Street.
Travel appointments can be made at MyWellbeing. If you have difficulty making travel appointments on MyWellbeing, please contact Student Health at (802) 656-3350.
