Group Counseling is a form of psychotherapy that usually involved 6-8 group members and 1-2 group counselors. Most groups meet weekly for 1.5 hours. Groups provide a safe environment where you can try new behaviors, improve communication skills, increase self-awareness, and give and receive support and feedback from group members, many of whom have concerns similar to yours.
Group counseling is particularly effective in helping people understand their interpersonal style through exploring important relationship themes such as trust, intimacy, conflict, assertiveness, and anger. Most often, people join counseling groups because they are experiencing some difficulties in their relationships.
