Common Ground Student-Run Educational Farm
Andrew Herrick was the farm manager. Claire Garner, Kate Turcotte, Maggie Donin and Liz Durfee also worked as farmers. They plowed fields with draft horses and invited community members to come learn, watch and even try hands on with horse driven plowing. They also built a cob oven in addition to keeping bees. They extracted honey and sold 5 shares to UVM dinning services for the summer. They sold a total of 30 shares and additional 5 went to the Waterman Manor Restaurant. Students made a lot of pesto and participated in the Harvest festival. They also maintained a farm blog.
