Brian Vedder - transcript

Right now I am in EDSC 207, and I have just started at Edmunds Middle School. I personally am in library help, and ELL classrooms. After a couple of sessions with them I really developed a relationship with the kids. I know that sometimes they will only end up doing work if I am there. You create a personal bond in these classroom environments. I also volunteer at the King Street Youth Center, which is a location for EDSC 215 (with Alan Tinkler). That has probably been one of the most influential educational experiences that I have gotten through my classes. It's just this relationship that you can continue all semester as if you were actually teaching them. It throws you into the teaching environment and you develop skills on your own. It's one thing in theory, and another in practice.
