Students who are requesting to transfer to the CESS Human Development & Family Studies program must have a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0. All other students must have an overall grade point average of 2.5 and Teacher Education students must be able to earn an overall grade point average of 3.0 by the time they reach program completion.
Enrolled UVM students wanting to transfer into the College of Education and Social Services must complete two separate forms. One is the official UVM form used to change colleges on campus. There is also a specific CESS Transfer Form that requests some additional information.
Once again, students will only be considered eligible for transfer if they currently have an overall average of 2.5 (except for students transferring to HDFS) and students in teacher education programs must also be able to earn an overall average of 3.0 or above by the time they reach program completion.
Students enrolled in appropriate programs in other UVM colleges/schools may apply to complete teacher licensure requirements for Secondary Education while they remain in their home college. They may also request to complete dual degrees. Information and applications for admission to the Teacher Education program are available in the Secondary Education Office, 405A Waterman. To request information, call (802) 656-1411.
