Economics Major
(Secondary Education)

The Secondary Education Economics major includes the list of specific Economics requirements and the Supplemental courses that are required for completion of the Economics major leading to a Social Studies endorsement.

Economics Requirements

Complete the following courses
30 cr. hrs.
EC 011 Principles of Macroeconomics
EC 012 Principles of Microeconomics
EC 171 Macroeconomic Theory
EC 172 Microeconomic Theory
Select six courses at the 100 level or above in cooperation with an Economics advisor and your CESS advisor. It may be recommended that STAT 141 fulfill three of these credits. (18 cr. hrs.)

Supplemental Social Studies Courses

Minimum of two HST courses required in addition to HST 011 or 012 in General Education.
Cultural Geography (GEOG) -
Options include: GEOG 050, 060, upper level courses 171, 173, 174, 175, 176, 177, 178, 179 (may have prerequisites).

Fulfilled by University Diversity requirement.
Citizenship (POLS) -
Fulfilled by POLS 021 in General Education.
Economics (EC) -
Fulfilled by Economics major.
