Conference on Indigenous VT Culture and Tradition

We will introduce you to a just-created interactive “virtual museum” of Indigenous Vermont artifacts and unpublished documents and to new ways of thinking and teaching about Indigenous Vermont culture and history.
Applications for the Classroom:
Participants will contribute to the development of an Indigenous-based and place-based strategic model of learning in the classroom.
Conference attendees will receive a DVD including the music, imagery, and written materials introduced in the conference for implementation in the classroom, as well as an outline of a state-of-the-art native-based epistemological structure to interpret it to Vermont students.

Enter the foyer of Governor's Mansion (the building to the left of the main inn entrance), and take the stairs at the right of the foyer to the ballroom. The Ballroom can also be accessed by entering at the main inn entrance, and taking the stairs to the left of the lobby downstairs to the tunnel that connects the main inn to the ballroom. If you need accessible access to the ballroom, please check in at the front desk in the main entrance and they will direct you.
Coffee and tea will be available at 8:00 and a continental breakfast break will be provided around 10:30.
All presenters/speakers requiring A/V should email their materials to George.Leibowitz@uvm.edu in advance. A PC laptop and microphone, projector and screen will be available for presentations. Presentation materials will be emailed to participants after the meeting.
