Higher education is currently engaged in a variety of discussions on the college student experience especially as it pertains to cost and access. More focus needs to be placed on the experience of first generation college students, and their access to higher education. Please come, support, and listen to a student panel sponsored by CESS Committee on Diversity Initiatives on Wednesday, November 14 from 12:00p.m.-1:15p.m. A panel of first generation students will reflect personally on their college experiences and higher education. This panel will be the first of three brown bags that focus on the theme of the first generation experience in preparation of our CDI annual conference scheduled for March 13, 2013 in the Davis Center at 3:30p.m. We hope to see you at our brown bag!

The Joy of Writing II (with Ralph Fletcher)

Description: The Joy of Writing II, a fall conference featuring Ralph Fletcher as keynote speaker. Ralph will deliver two keynote talks as well as a follow-up session. We will also be offering 8 additional breakout sessions designed to help us understand and implement teaching and learning practices that support Common Core State Standards.
Come connect with friends and past fellows as well as the wonderful teachers and leaders who are members of the Vermont Council on Reading, our co-sponsor for this conference. Together we are offering opportunities to join a regional book group featuring one of Ralph Fletcher's books are available by contacting the Vermont Council on Reading as well as GMWP@UVM.
