Kailee Brickner-McDonald is pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with a focus in higher education. Kailee’s originally from New Jersey. At The College of William and Mary (2006) she enjoyed learning about social change through civic engagement experiences. After a short time traveling and community organizing, Kailee came to Vermont to complete UVM’s Higher Education and Student Affairs masters program (2010).  Kailee is currently the Director of the Dewey House for Civic Engagement Residential Learning Community at UVM, which supports socially just change through service, learning, and leadership. In her research, she plans to explore how service-learning in higher education can be a way for students to develop a commitment to social justice. She loves Vermont’s strong sense of community, dancing, cooking, and playing outside.
