Andrew Hudacs is a doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program at the University of Vermont. His research interests include rural schools and how K-16 public education prepares students for careers. Other interests consist of policy analysis and organizational leadership to reduce socioeconomic achievement gaps. He completed a BA at St. Michael’s College and a MS in Counseling from the University of Vermont. When he worked in public schools as a middle/high school counselor and special needs coordinator, he facilitated student support services and taught courses in career exploration. After working in public schools, he transitioned to supporting the statewide education system at the Vermont Agency of Education by coordinating professional development, managing statewide and regional grants, and coordinating program improvement for career and technical education centers and school counselors. In February 2014, Andrew was named the Vermont State Coordinator and Policy Analyst for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) as well as Director of the Advanced Placement (AP) Fee Reduction Project.
