Mrs. Carol "Diane" Minton of Hyde Park Elementary receives her Outstanding Teacher award after 50 years as an educator. Mrs. Minton received a standing ovation from the audience commending her dedication to Vermont's children.

33nd Annual Outstanding Teacher Day

October 16, 2013 is Outstanding Teacher Day! For thirty one years, The University of Vermont’s College of Education & Social Services and Vermont Supervisory Unions & School Districts have joined to honor Outstanding Teachers.

All Outstanding Teachers exemplify one or more of the five standards for Vermont educators -- learning, professional knowledge, advocacy, colleagueship, and accountability. Typically, 90-100 teachers are nominated for this award each year with over 45 school districts in Vermont participating.

This year's event will be held at The University of Vermont on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
