Lia Cravedi first joined the University in 1989, after spending the first 12 years of her professional career teaching in the Springfield and Winooski School Districts in Vermont. While working as a special educator, Ms. Cravedi was particularly interested in the areas of inclusion and collaborative teaming. Since coming to UVM, Ms. Cravedi has continued to develop her knowledge and skills in these areas, while engaging in the preparation of highly skilled future secondary educators as an instructor and program coordinator. Recently, together with colleagues from the Department of Education (DOE), Ms. Cravedi has been involved in the creation of the "Common Core", an engaging and developmentally appropriate experience for all First Time/First Year students entering the DOE.
