Projects in this area research the physics, modeling, and imaging of systems characterized by widely diverse length and time scales.

Research in this area is performed in collaboration with the interdisciplinary program in Materials Science and with the UVM College of Medicine.

Research Facilities

The Multiscale Systems group includes seven research facilties: the Computational Electromagnetics Laboratory, Materials Nanomechanics Laboratory, Microfluid Mechanics Laboratory, Semiconductor Processing Laboratory, Signal Processing Laboratory, Turbulence and Multiscale Simulation Laboratory, and Vortex and Particulate Flow Laboratory.
