ECE Graduate Program

The Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering at the University of Vermont (UVM) offers Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. For more information, see the links to the right and the ECE Graduate Student Handbook.

Research Areas

To better coordinate multidisciplinary research efforts, we have developed four School-wide graduate focus areas in Bioengineering Systems, Multiscale Systems, Sensors & Control Systems, and Sustainable Systems. Graduate education in electrical engineering contributes to the following aspects of these focus areas:

Bioengineering Systems (e.g., bio-instrumentation)

Sustainable Systems

  • Energy (e.g., generation, transmission, storage, efficiency)

Multiscale Systems

  • Electromagnetics (e.g., optics, remote sensing)
  • Imaging (e.g., signal processing)
  • Materials (e.g., semiconductor materials)
  • Microelectronics (e.g., mixed signal circuit design)

Sensors & Control Systems (e.g., wireless sensors)
