The Statistics Program has established an internship affiliation with the Vermont Department of Health (VDH) (http://healthvermont.gov). Students in the Master's program are eligible to apply for the internship program at the end of their first year of study. The internship program is designed to be carried out during the second year of study over the Fall and Spring semesters. The internship program provides an excellent opportunity to interact with researchers from various disciplines on a variety of projects. The VDH is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on several surveys including: the Adult Tobacco Survey, the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), the Health and Healthcare Trends in Vermont, the Health Care Provider Surveys, the Infectious Disease Epidemiology, the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), the Vital Signs & Statistics – Monthly and Annual CDC Programs, and the Vermont Hospital Discharge & Utilization Survey.
