Steven Wildermuth

Steve Wildermuth is the Director of Engineering for IBM's Essex Junction, Vermont semiconductor manufacturing facility, a position he has held since 2003.

Over the course of his career at IBM, he has served in a variety of technical and managerial positions, including a previous assignment from 1998 to 2003 as Director of Worldwide Semiconductor Packaging and Test. Steve joined IBM in 1981 after receiving a BS in Chemical Engineering from Leigh University. While working at IBM, he did coursework at the University of Vermont, and earned two graduate level degrees, an MS in Materials Science from UVM in 1988, and an MBA.

Steve has served on the Board of Advisors, for the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at The University of Vermont since 2003 and as an Executive Committee Member since its inception in 2006. He also is affiliated with Sematech's International Sematech Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI), a business consortium for semiconductor manufacturing companies.

Steve and his wife Debra live in Essex, Vermont with their two children. They enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational activities including cross country skiing, hiking and biking.
