Ron Dechene founded Auburn Systems more than 30 years ago and is CEO of the company, an entrepreneurial air pollution monitoring and control company with novel technology for toxic dust emissions monitoring and control, now widely accepted and employed around the world. His company recently established its first China venture office in Beijing and is adapting Auburn proprietary technology with the cooperation of several PRC technical institutes for the China market.
Ron graduated from UVM in 1966 with a degree in history, lives in Boxford, MA, and has numerous U.S. and foreign patents for environmental monitoring and manufacturing process applications. He has served as a member of the Board of Advisors for the UVM School of Business and upon retirement from that board, after more than 20 years active membership, was appointed in 2005 to serve as a member of the UVM College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (CEMS) Board of Advisors and is, currently, chair of its executive committee.
Active in numerous community activities, Ron has served as trustee and treasurer of the Shore Country Day School (Beverly, MA), on the Board of Directors of the North Shore Regional YMCA (Northeaster, MA), and as conservation commissioner for the Town of Boxford, MA.
