Updating Matlab license file on a Mac

This help page assumes that the user knows basic Mac commands.

  1. Download the following file to your Desktop
    network.lic
( Control-click on the link and pick "Save Link As...")
  2. You'll need to know where Matlab is installed. Generally it is in Applications and is named something like "MATLAB_R2011b" or "MATLAB_R2011b.app". If it is not in Applications, you'll need to find it. Wherever it is, control-click on the Matlab icon and select Show Package Contents. This opens a new window. Drag the file you downloaded in step one onto the folder called "licenses". It may ask you about replacing the old file, just agree to Replace it.
  3. That's it.
