The Supporting Students with Challenging Behaviors training course includes four units (detailed below):

Unit 1: Understanding Student Behavior (e.g., characteristics of different types of behavioral disabilities, understanding functions of behavior, positive behavior supports including prevention strategies, replacement behaviors and effective responses) Unit Objectives
Unit 2: Gathering Information About Challenging Behavior (e.g., observing behavior, different ways to record data about behaviors, components of a functional assessment of behavior) Unit Objectives
Unit 3: Preventing Challenging Behavior and Teaching Replacement Behaviors (e.g., components of a positive behavior support plan, factors that prevent challenging behaviors, how to teach replacement behaviors) Unit Objectives
Unit 4: Responding to Challenging Behavior (e.g., seffectively responding to misbehavior, understanind the conflict cycle, how to calm stressful or challenging situations and understanding de-escalation). Unit Objectives
