Vermont GIZMO Institute and Camp

The Center on Disability and Community Inclusion (CDCI) at the University of Vermont is delighted to invite you to participate in Vermont GIZMO Institute and Camp.

Vermont GIZMO Institute and Camp is a five-day, four-night camp for selected focus children with multiple disabilites and their families, caregivers and educational team members. GIZMO Institute offers courses and workshops for educators, paraeducators, related service providers, administrators, parents and community members.

Vermont GIZMO Institute and Camp has been postponed until summer of 2008, while we work on measures to sustain GIZMO Institute and Camp for future years for the benefit of many children.

Vermont GIZMO Institute and Camp was initiated with grants from the Gibney Family Foundation and the Vermont Department of Education and had had two successful years of operation.

Special thanks to the West Virginia Department of Education, especially Kathy Knighton, Ginger Huffman, Annette Carey and the West Virginia Camp Gizmo for their generous time and technical assistance, and for sharing the idea and name of Camp GIZMO to kickoff this project in the summer of 2005.
