General Information

Whether you are taking a single course or participating in the full concentration, there several things you need to know about navigating UVM's electronic system for course registration, email, ID cards, checking your grades, using the libraries, and completing course evaluations.
General Information
Topic Description Link
Registering for contract courses If you are not taking one of the concentration courses as part of a degree program (e.g., MEd) then you register as a contract course. This link takes you directly to UVM's Continuing Education registration page for contract courses. Your program coordinator will let you know when a specific course has been posted for registration. Contract Course Registration
Your UVM account All UVM students, even those taking a single class, must activate their UVM email account to receive important information from UVM. While your instructor may have your regular email account, UVM will only send you notices to your UVM email account. If you wish, after you activate your account you can have all your UVM email forwarded to your primary email, so you do not have to check different accounts. Use the link to the right for instructions for setting up your account. UVM email
Your UVM ID card Your UVM ID is required for accessing the UVM library. Instructions for obtaining a UVM ID card can be found at the link to the right. UVM ID card
Checking your student account For students taking contract courses, your tuition payments go to the Vermont State Colleges rather than UVM. However, if you would like to access your UVM account (or you've received notice from UVM that you should do so), you can find instructions at the following link. Students enrolled in a degree program will want to check their UVM account to make sure it is accurate. UVM accounts
Checking your grades UVM no longer sends paper grades to students. To check your grades use the following link to read instruction on how to access your grades. You will need your UVM ID number (begins with 950 or 951). Check your grades
Using UVM's library By taking UVM courses you have access to UVM's library system both in person and online. Your coursework may require that you use the library, or you may decide to access it on your own. In addition to checking out books, many materials (e.g., full copies of special education journals) are available online. Use the following link to read instructions on accessing the library system.
