Michael Giangreco to Give University Scholar Presentation
Cartoons, Critical Issues, and Research: Absurdities and Realities of Special Education

The public is invited to attend a University Scholar presentation by Professor Michael Giangreco on Wednesday, October 30, at 4:00 in Memorial Lounge. Professor Giangreco was named one of this year's University Scholars in recognition for both his research and scholarship in the field of education of children with special needs. His scholarship has focused on various aspects of including students with special needs in general education classrooms.
Professor Giangreco has contributed more than 170 scholarly publications to his field, including well over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, as well as several books. He has also authored four books of cartoons about the “Absurdities and Realities of Special Education.” His cartoons are widely used by colleagues and advocates in conference presentations and classes and have been reprinted in dozens of publications in the US and other countries. He will speak on "Cartoons, Critical Issues, and Research: Absurdities and Realities of Special Education."
Michael Giangreco is currently Professor, Department of Education, College of Education and Social Services, and Research and Evaluation Coordinator of the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion at UVM.
