Michael Giangreco, PhD, Center on Disability and Community Inclusion Faculty member and Professor, Department of Education at the University of Vermont, will present a free webinar on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, from 10 am - 11 am (EST), entitled What Does the IDEA say about the Least Restrictive Environment?

Placement is one of the most foundational (and potentially contentious) aspects of educating a student with a disability. The IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) requires that students with disabilities be educated in the least restrictive environment (LRE). But what does that really mean? This webinar will review the basics of LRE and discuss its implications for students, families, and educators. The webinar is presented by the Vermont Family Network.
