UVM Extension Mobile Computer LabNortheast Center for Risk Management Education. Vermont farmers often ask UVM Extension for assistance and training on the use of computer-based management programs. To meet computer training needs, UVM Extension elicited support from NECRME and Vermont ag-supporting businesses to develop a mobile computer lab. The lab consists of 10 laptop computers, printer, and projector. The lab to date has been used for programs in ag business, field fertility and nutrient management, and DHIA record management. In the third year the computer lab has been used for workshops ranging from ag business to DHIA records to beef management systems. To date, more than 150 Vermont farmers have benefited from using the lab for hands on training. (R. Parsons, D. Kauppila, G. Rogers) Project members: Parsons |
