Transferring the Farm Workshops.Northeast Center for Risk Management Education. Farmers across New England need information that will help minimize risks associated with farm business succession. Four workshops were held across New England that introduced farm families to succession planning and included estate tax laws, methods to transfer farm assets, and goal setting. Two advanced workshops were also offered featuring a prominent attorney and estate planner. The workshops were attended by 262 people. 95 percent were satisfied/very satisfied with the introductory workshop, and more than 75 percent found the instructors effective/very effective in providing information on farm succession. 88 percent said the advanced workshop was useful/extremely useful and 92 percent said it helped them gain a better understanding of estate and transfer planning.
