Elementary School Education

In response to requests from local elementary school teachers for new methods of teaching environmental education, students from UVM have been developing and demonstrating innovative teaching methods in elementary schools in the Taulabe area for a number of years.  Initially the focus was to raise nutritional and sanitary awareness, but it has evolved as other projects have to encompass more environmental focuses. Project members use experiential and games-based learning techniques to model them for Honduran students and teachers. The goal is to transfer those techniques as well as other innovative educational methods to local teachers.
