Sierra Poske graduated from Wake Forest University with bachelor degrees in English Literature and Anthropology. Upon graduation, she accepted an invitation from the United States Peace Corps to teach English as a foreign language in the post-soviet Republic of Azerbaijan. Placed in a primary school in Azerbaijan, she worked on teaching students as well as teachers English, in collaboration with local NGO's on projects that promoted extracurricular activity for women in the community, and directed the largest summer camp for children in the country. Following the Peace Corps, she spent six months as an assistant tennis professional, working alongside her father and teaching children of all ages to love the sport like she does.
