Ryan Leamy was born and raised in Wilder, Vermont, a small village on the border with New Hampshire. He graduated from Hartford High School and attended St. Mike’s for a year before transferring to UVM. Ryan then studied abroad in Cork, Ireland, where he got the travel bug. After graduating from UVM in 2007, Ryan went to Washington DC and worked for Senator Leahy for a bit before joining the Peace Corps. He served in Mali, West Africa and was an agricultural extension volunteer where Ryan worked on gardening, market accessibility and shea butter production, amongst many other things. For the last year and a half, he's been working in Boston as a Grants and Contracts Officer for Partners’ Healthcare/Massachusetts General Hospital.
Ryan has a strong desire to travel again and is looking forward to what/where the future might hold. Ryan says it's great to be back home in Vermont, and that he's missed the mountains. He is also an avid gardener, cook and home brewer; and enjoys mountain biking and ice hockey and can be found most Friday nights at the Gut!
