Dr. Ponterotto is the co-author or co-editor of 11 books, the
most recent being Preventing Prejudice: A Guide for Counselors,
Educators, and Parents (2nd ed., 2006), and the Handbook of
Multicultural Assessment: Clinical, Psychological, and Educational
Applications (3rd ed., 2008). His presentations will
focus on prejudices impact on service providing and cultural identity developmentissues from a domestic and international
perspective. Dr. PonterottoÕs is a collaborative effort by the Center for

Diversity Leadership Teaching & Research Award and also the John Ireland
Presidential Award for Outstanding Achievement as a Teacher/Scholar. In 2008 he
also received the Morris T. Keeton Award of the Council for Adult and
Experiential Learning for his outstanding contributions to adult and
experiential learning. In 2009 he was inducted into the international Adult
Education Hall of Fame and in 2010 he received an honorary doctor of letters

Joseph G. Ponterotto, Ph.D. is a
Professor of Counseling Psychology in Fordham University's Graduate School of
Education, New York City. He currently is Coordinator of Fordham University's
Mental Health Counseling Program. Professor Ponterotto
has taught roughly 4,000 master's degree (M.S.Ed.)
and doctoral degree (Ph.D.) students in his 25 years as a Professor at Fordham
University (New York City) and the University of Nebraska (Lincoln, NE). Dr. Ponterotto is an active multicultural consultant to
schools, mental health agencies, hospitals, and other diverse organizations,
and he is the co-author or co-editor of 12 books and over 90 peer-reviewed
journal articles.
