What is the focus of UVM's Job Fair?

UVM holds a Job Fair each semester in the Dudley H. Davis Student Center Grand Maple Ballroom. The purpose is to offer an opportunity on campus for companies and organizations to meet with UVM students and alumni interested in exploring jobs, internships and career options.

Who attends the Job Fair?
  • Seniors and alumni looking for full-time employment.
  • Students seeking internships and jobs, and researching industries and companies
When will Registration Open?

Employer registration begins at the start of each semester: September for the fall fair and January for the spring fair.

What is the Cost for Participation?

For-profit business fee: $250

Non-profit and governmental organizations: $100

How Many Representatives May We Bring?

We ask that you bring one to two people to represent your organization. This will optimize the number of organizations able to participate.

What Do We Bring To The Job Fair?

Each presenter will have a 6 foot table for display purposes. Electrical access will be available if requested on the registration form. Please bring materials (handouts, brochures, flyers, and similar items) that highlight your company and available positions.

You will be able to unload materials at the Davis Student Center before parking your vehicle. A shuttle will be provided.

A break room will be available next to the ballroom. Light refreshments and beverages will be provided. The Davis Center offers a variety of restaurants for purchasing meals at your convenience. ATM access is also available.

Please note: Hanging materials on the walls of the Davis Center is not allowed.

Will There Be Reserved Space to Conduct Interviews?

On the day of the event, there is a room connected to the ballroom to meet with students in a semi-private setting. In addition, there are several student lounges located throughout the Davis Center.

Please contact Career Services to schedule on-campus interviews.

How Will Career Services Market the Job Fair?

We market the Fair through email, posters, newsletters, class presentations, faculty announcements, advertisements in the campus newspaper and on plasma screens throughout campus. We also list participating employers on our website as soon as you register.

In addition, we will conduct targeted outreach to students in specific areas of interest. You are more than welcome to inform student organizations of your visit to UVM.

How Should I Prepare For The Fair?
  • Thoroughly read and understand Frequently Asked Questions.
  • Read, and sign the Employer Participation Agreement (PDF).
  • Register for the fair.
  • Provide names of representatives and update if changes occur.
  • Provide brief descriptions of up-coming job and internship postings for the on-line employer guide, Experience database and for display purposes at the event.
  • Be prepared to discuss current opportunities as well as educate students on strategies for becoming a strong applicant.

How Do We Advertise Our Current and Anticipated Jobs and Internships?

Please provide brief job and internship descriptions on the registration form, which will be listed in the "Guide To Employers." Post your opportunities on Catamount Job Link.

What Are The Arrival and Parking Logistics?

On-campus parking is available in the Gutterson Parking Garage. There will be shuttle service available between the Davis Student Center and the Gutterson Parking Garage at the beginning and end of each day's event. Assistance will be provided in transporting materials to and from the Grand Maple Ballroom. If you have largy, heavy loads (more than you can carry) you may drop materials off at the Davis Center Loading Dock before parking at Gutterson. Please see details (PDF).

Will Non-UVM Students Participate in this Event?

The focus of our outreach efforts are to UVM students and alumni. We will also send notice of these events to area colleges.
