Preparation for Career Fair

Steps to Take:

First and Second Year Students: EXPLORE

1. Visit uvm.edu/career to explore the companies and organizations coming to the Career Fair to determine which days would like to attend and which employers you would like to connect with.
2. Meet with a career counselor in an individual appointment (call 656-3450 to schedule an appointment) or come by the office during walk-in hours (M-TH 1-4 pm) to explore options, resources and personal direction.
3. Come to the Fair, curious to meet with employers regarding opportunities that might assist you in determining a career direction and add to your out-of-classroom experience.

Junior and Senior Students: PREPARE

1. Consider
   1. what type of experience or opportunity interests you
   2. the skills you want to use or to gain
   3. your priorities regarding location, pay, work environment
2. Visit uvm.edu/career to identify companies and organizations of interest and research their sites in order to prepare for conversations at the Fairs.
3. Prepare your resume so you can present yourself effectively. To get started, visit our website: Career Services. Once you have a draft, come by walk-in hours, M-TH 1-4 pm for feedback on the presentation of your document.
