Preparation for Career Fair
Steps to Take:
First and Second Year Students: EXPLORE
- Visit uvm.edu/career to explore the companies and
organizations coming to the Career Fair to determine which days would
like to attend and which employers you would like to connect with.
- Meet with a career counselor in an individual appointment
(call 656-3450 to schedule an appointment) or come by the office during
walk-in hours (M-TH 1-4 pm) to explore options, resources and personal
direction.
- Come to the Fair, curious to meet with employers regarding
opportunities that might assist you in determining a career direction
and add to your out-of-classroom experience.
Junior and Senior Students: PREPARE
- Consider
- what type of experience or opportunity interests you
- the skills you want to use or to gain
- your priorities regarding location, pay, work
environment
- Visit uvm.edu/career to identify companies and
organizations of interest and research their sites in order to prepare
for conversations at the Fairs.
- Prepare your resume so you can present yourself
effectively. To get started, visit our website: Career
Services. Once you have a draft, come by walk-in hours, M-TH
1-4 pm for feedback on the presentation of your document.
