The Application

Global Job Shadowing sites 2017

Students can find shadowing sites advertised at the Career Center and in The Hub.

Completed Application requirements:

  1. Resumes should be uploaded into Handshake for review and and entitled “Global Job Shadow Resume”. Please submit early! Get help with your resume:


  2. A short one-page essay explaining what you hope to gain from a shadowing experience, and why you have chosen specific shadowing sites. Please identify your top shadowing sites.

  3. Student must attend a mandatory pre-departure session that outlines the process and expectations of Job Shadowing on Tuesday May 8th at 3pm in The Hub, Davis Center.

UVM Global Summer Job Shadowing

WHAT?

UVM is expanding the job shadowing opportunities around the world to allow students to explore careers with a UVM alum, for one-day over summer break! Start building your global professional networks this summer.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED?

  1. Begin applying on February 20th, and applications are due Thursday, April 19th. The Career Center will match students with a shadowing site on a on a first-come, first-serve basis, so submit your application early!

  2. Once a student and hosts are matched, they will receive each other’s contact information. Students will then contact their host to schedule a shadowing day between May- August that works with both schedules.

  3. Student must attend a mandatory pre-departure session that outlines the process and expectations of Job Shadowing on Tuesday May 8th at 3pm in The Hub, Davis Center.

  4. On the agreed upon shadowing day, the student will arrange their own transportation and show up at the agreed upon time and place.

  5. After the shadowing experience, both students and host will complete an evaluation of Job Shadowing & students will send a thank you note to follow up.
