Assistant Director for UVM Partnerships
I have never been able to answer the question: “What do you want to do when you grow up?”. And yet, I’ve enjoyed a fruitful and rewarding career for the past two decades. In joining the Career Center, I welcome to opportunity to share this perspective with students, in hopes of alleviating some of the stress associated with not knowing, in order to create space for discovery. Discovering what you know, value and can do (which is often more than we realize) is key in making our way; whether we know where we’re going or not. Discovery, it turns out, has been the common thread throughout my career. Whether directing adventure-base education programs for girls, or teaching in the college classroom, my goal is always to facilitate discovery. After nearly a decade in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am most pleased to be back at UVM, where I completed my M.Ed. in 2005, re-discovering and connecting with the excellent community here. I am equally pleased to be sharing the natural beauty and outdoor fun of Vermont with my two wonderfully playful children and one very kind wife.
