4.08.04 THE CAMPAIGN FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT PASSES THE $150 MILLION MARK

Gifts to The Campaign for the University of Vermont reached $150,628,384 as of the end of March, 2004, placing UVM's most ambitious fundraising effort 60 percent of the way to its $250 million goal.

"We're feeling very good about our progress to date," said Ian deGroot, vice president for development and alumni relations."We're not quite half way through our six-year time frame and
already at sixty percent of goal, so we're in pretty good shape."

De Groot said the campaign has been broad-based, generating support from a cross-section of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the university. "That's important," he said. "This
campaign involves the entire UVM family, and we hope everyone will participate at whatever level they can. Some sixty-two percent of our campaign total will come from smaller gifts."

The campaign began in July of 2001 and runs through June 30, 2007.
