10.11.05 NEW ARTIFICIAL TURF FIELD DEDICATED
Moulton Winder Field was dedicated on Homecoming and Family Weekend prior to a field hockey game against the University of Maine on October 9. The new artificial turf field has been named in honor of Reynolds E. "Rey" Moulton, Jr. and Betsy Winder of Manchester, Massachusetts, whose $1 million gift to UVM athletics financed a major portion of the construction. Winder is the mother of UVM sophomore and field hockey team member Stirling Winder. Participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony were Director of Athletics Robert Corran, Dorothy Douglas, Governor Jim Douglas, Rachel Kahn-Fogel, President Daniel Mark Fogel, Betsy Winder, Reynolds Moulton, Stirling Winder, and Trustees Chair Carl Lisman '67. |
