A university is only as good as its libraries, and UVM takes special pride in Bailey/Howe Library, Dana Medical Library, and the Cook Chemistry/Physics Library. Vital exemplars of the University’s commitment to excellence in instruction, to innovation in research and scholarship, and to public service, the University libraries are valued resources for the state of Vermont and its people.

Digital information storage and retrieval play an increasingly important role in supporting teaching and academic research, and both Bailey/Howe and Dana libraries are central to the University’s ability to meet the changing needs of today’s computer-based learning communities. UVM’s Special Collections — rare books, manuscripts, archives, and, most importantly, Vermontiana — are unique cultural heritage collections that also enrich our scholarly environment.

Since knowledge, whether it is in print or electronic form, never stops growing, The Campaign for the University of Vermont seeks contributions to the Libraries Acquisition Fund to help the libraries expand their collections, particularly in the arts and humanities, biomedical and health sciences, science and technology, and environmental science and studies.
