Advisory Board

In order to gain insight from industry leaders, elected officials, students and Vermonters, the Dean of CALS has appointed an advisory board which meets twice a year to provide feedback and advice. In addition, they review the College Strategic Plan and provide information on future trends of agriculture and life sciences. They are an invaluable source of counsel to the Dean and usually serve a three year term.

	Roger Allbee, Chair of the University of Vermont College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Advisory Board and former secretary of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets.
	Ray Allen, Owner of Allenholm Farms and Bed & Breakfast in South Hero, Vermont and former University of Vermont trustee.
	Tom Berry, U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy's lead Vermont staffer on agricultural and natural resource issues.
	Megan Camp, Shelburne Farms vice president and program director.
	Patricia “Tricia” Coates, State director for U.S. Congressman Peter Welch, former staffer of U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy's agriculture committee and a former history teacher.
	Cynthia Danaher, of Winchester, Massachusetts is a former Vice President and General Manager of the Hewlett-Packard Medical Products Group. She is a CALS alumna (class of 1980).
	Robert Foster, Co-owner of Vermont Natural Ag Products makers of Moo Doo and dairy farmer at Foster Brothers Farm in Middlebury, Vermont, which pioneered on-farm electrical power generation.
	Pat Heffernan of Shelburne, Vt is co-owner of Marketing Partners. She served as the founding president of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) and Women Business Owners Network (WBON).
	Victor Izzo, University of Vermont plant and soil scientist Ph.D. student who received his master's degree in bioscience and biotechnology from Drexel University.
	Peter Karnezos, Representative of the Vermont Feed Dealers and director of sales and product development for The Old Mill Troy Inc.
	Fred “Chico” Lager, Business consultant and former CEO of Ben & Jerry's.
	Rick LeVitre, of Malone, NY, is Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension, Franklin County, NY. He retired from UVM Extension in 2011 after 31 years, concluding as Associate Dean of Extension (UVM G' 80).
	David Marvin, Owner of Butternut Mountain Farms in Johnson, Vermont, which specializes in maple products and forest management.
	Jenny Nelson, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders staffer and Ryegate, Vermont dairy farmer.
	Robert Paquin, Vermont executive director of the USDA Farm Service Agency and former long-time staff assistant to U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy.
	Chuck Ross, Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets, farmer and former state director for U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy.
	Robert Ullrich, University of Vermont botany professor emeritus and former director of UVM's biological sciences program.
