Jamie Abbatiello SNR: A native of upstate New York, Jamie graduated with a degree in Natural Resources. Presently, Jamie is down in Virginia right now with the Teach for America program. A extremely talented individual Jamie was captain of the UVM men’s gymnastics team and even went out to Seattle to compete in the NCAA national competition. A holder of numerous gymnastics records, Jamie received the Outstanding Achievement Award, The Sustained Commitment Award, Henry Semans Trophy, the Lola Aiken Award in Natural Resources, and the Environmental Studies Achievement Award. In addition, Jamie was involved in Mortar Board, Golden Key, and the Student Admissions Program.

Charles "Chuck" Eastwood (Historian) CAS:  A native of South Burlington, Vermont, Chuck graduated with a degree in Psychology with an independently designed minor in Family Relations. Before graduation, he completed his undergraduate honors thesis on the effects of metacognitive training on individuals’ tolerance of ambiguity. He was activly involved as Resident Assistant, Orientation Leader, Trek leader, Trek logistics coordinator, Outdoor Club Summer House Manager and Long Trail Thru-Hiker. Awards that he received were: Phi Beta Kappa, Mortar Board, Golden Key, Psi Chi, and the UVM Psych Department's Donald G. Forgays Outstanding Senior Award. His hobbies include biking, hiking and snowshoeing. Since graduation, Chuck has completed UVM's post-bacheloreate/premedical program and is currently applying to several medical schools.

Matt Kennedy CAS:  A Vermont native of South Burlington, Matt graduated with degree in Political Science. At graduation he received his commission into the United States Army as an Army officer. He has attended Officer Basic Course and we have not found out where he is at present. His request was to be stationed in Germany for the next three years. At UVM, Matt was the ROTC Cadet Battalion Recruiting officer and ROTC Cadet Battalion Commander. In his spare time Matt enjoys sports such as tennis, basketball, running, football, military strategy, international relations, history and politics. Prior to graduation, Matt was a member of the VT Army National Guard and working at a local law firm. Matthew was honored as one of two Distinguished Military Students and Graduates, he also received the Department of Army Superior Cadet Award, the Wadsworth Ramsey Smith Memorial Saber Award and the George C. Marshall Award.

Israel Maynard SNR:  Another Native Vermonter majoring in Private Recreation Management received the honor of most outstanding Greek Male and received the Francis S. Viele Scholarship. He was a great leader on campus as a student and as President of Sigma Phi Society. An avid golf player who is very good, he was also seen in the editorial section of the Burlington Free Press promoting the Greek system of the University of Vermont. Israel was busy studying and always provided us with a smile as a bartender at R.J.’s. He is presently in New York.

Collin Moffit (Public Relations) CAS:  Reigning from Hamden CT, Colin graduated with a degree in Political Science with a minor in English. At UVM he was the SGA president from 1996-1997, Chair of the Public Affairs Committee, and a key member in the Cycling club. For fun he enjoys painting and playing the Saxophone. At graduation Colin was honored as being a very influential and dedicated SGA President wearing the Student version of the Presidents medallion.

David Powell CAS:  An active member of the Campus Community, Dave was in Mortar Board and Boulder. Dave brought the maturity to the group as he spent two years in the Army and was splitting his time between UVM and Dartmouth Hitchcock as an Emergency Helicopter Pilot. Dave was honored with the John Dewey Award given by the Department of Psychology. Dave attained a B.S. in Psychology and Communication Sciences..

Jason Robinson CAS:  Originally from Rockport, Maine Jason’s primary campus activities included Chairing the Committee on Legislative action for the SGA for the past two years. He was also Co-Social Sigma Phi Society, a member for four years, rowed crew in 1993. Received a Bachelor of Arts degree as a Political Science major and English minor. Though his future plans were still up in the air, he is rumored to be in Maine.

Scott Rogers (President) CESS: Another native Vermonter of Essex Junction, Scott graduated with a B.S. degree in Education. His major was Secondary Education Social Studies with a History concentration with a minor in English. Activities and Honors at UVM include: Resident Assistant-two years, Mortar Board, Who’s Who’s, Kappa Delta Pi -Educational Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta-History Honor Society, Charlie and Kitty Catamount Mascot Club (4yrs.), Alpha Gamma Rho (4yrs.) Vice Noble Ruler-Scholarship ‘96, Intramural Hockey, Track in ‘94-400m Int. hurdles. Scott was honored by the College of Education with The Outstanding Student in Secondary Education Award and the Frederick T. Kidder Medal at graduation. Presently Scott is teaching High School Social Studies (U.S. Hst., World Hst., and Global Studies) at Bellows Free Academy-Fairfax in Fairfax, Vermont. He is also Head Coach of their High School and Middle School Cross-Country program. In addition, Scott is presently Co-Director of the Essex Teen Center. Scott is looking to move to the Cincinnati area in July if anyone could help him with finding a job.

Matthew Stelljes SBA:  Matt hails from the ice rinks of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in Business Administration.. A former walk-on on the University of Minnesota hockey team, Matt was recruited by former Associate Head Hockey Coach, Roger Grillo. UVM was fortunate to have Matt transfer as he was a key performer as he helped the UVM hockey team make it to the final four in 1996. In addition to his skills, Matt was a well respected individual on the team as he was elected Captain his senior year.

Addison Stone CAS:  Brought up in Burlington, Wisconsin Addison graduated from UVM with a degree in Biology and a minor in History. Addison was Chair of the Senior Class Gift council and will always be remembered as the person responsible for the biggest Senior Class Gift to date of a courtyard in front of Angell Lecture Hall and the Cook Physical Science building. Addison, a former student senator, was Vice President of SGA as a sophomore. It was during his term that he initiated the push to construct a new athletic complex. Unfortunately due to a high price tag, Addison’s work that all of us would have benefited from will only be seen in the form of additions to the present facility. He was also a member and House Manager of Delta Psi fraternity and was an active and dedicated member to UVM rescue. A member of Mortar Board, Phi Beta Kappa, Golden Key, Phi Eta Sigma he was able to keep up with his non-academic interests of skiing, woordworking, hiking, and camping. Addisson’s hard work and dedication paid off as he was honored with the Class of 1967 award at Graduation. In addition, Addison received The Spirit of Service Award and the Lyman S. Rowell Award in Biology. Presently Addison is supposedly in Wisconsin relaxing for a year before he attends Medical School.
