Dr. Alison Brody's Termite Work has been Published in "Ecology"
The interactions among species, both above- and below-ground, can have profound impacts on plant performance. In East African savannas, as in temperate grasslands, large vertebrate herbivores are conspicuous consumers of plants. These consumers also provide nutrients in the form of dung and urine that can affect plant performance in positive ways. READ MORE
Dr. Judith Van Houten Elected Positions and Honors
Dr. Van Houten, University Distinguished Professor and Vermont State EPSCoR and IDeA Director, was elected Vice-Vice Chair of the NSF EPSCoR Project Director's Executive Committee at the May 2010 Project Directors Meeting in Arlington, Virginia. Dr. Carmen Hernandez Retires

Dr. Carmen Hernandez joined the Biology Department as a graduate student in 1992. Her research with Professor Jim Vigoreaux was instrumental in establishing a genetic approach to study the function of a novel muscle protein in the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. READ MORE
