Research
My research investigates the application of sex ratio theory to the lizard malaria parasite Plasmodium mexicanum. My research combines classical parasitological techniques (microscope work) with modern molecular analysis (genotyping infections using microsatellite markers) to investigate how factors such as the clonal diversity of infections and male fecundity may help explain variation in sex ratio within and among species.
