Questions about Overrides:
IF YOU ARE TAKING A BioCore COURSE:

For BCOR 101, 102, 103 - Please see the course instructor for an override.

IF YOU ARE TAKING A BIOLOGY COURSE:

Transfer Questions:
If you are transferring courses into or out of UVM, please contact the Transfer Affairs Office at 656-0867.

Is health insurance provided for graduate students?

The Department and Graduate College will defray most of the cost of health insurance. Students who are taking at least six credit hours (graduate students included) are eligible, but not required*, to purchase the student health insurance plan or pay the prerequisite student health fee. *International students are REQUIRED to purchase this insurance plan.

Obtaining a Parking Permit:
You can get a parking permit by contacting Transporation and Parking Services (802-656-8686). Specific information about parking for graduate students can be found here.

Housing in and around Burlington:
Graduate student housing is available both though UVM and off-campus landlords and realators. Inquiries about housing through UVM should be addressed to the Residential Life Office (802-656-3434; e-mail:reslife@uvm.edu) or Fort Ethan Allen (802-655-0661).

You can also search for available housing in and around Burlington using classified ads from the Burlington Free Press, 7 days, and web sites like apartments.com.

Getting around Burlington:
Visit the official City of Burlington web site for information. This site includes useful links to information about relocating to the Champlain Valley, maps of Vermont, housing, outdoor recreation, and calendar of art and music events.

Burlington Weather:
Visit either accuweather.com or weather.com to view current weather and historical weather records for Vermont and the Burlington area.
