A Note on
Ticker Symbols
Any stock traded
on any exchange has a ticker symbol, which is an abbreviation for the
company. Sometimes they’re obvious, like
IBM or DIS, but sometime they’re not (try BAC). In order to trade a stock, you have to know
its symbol. It also helps to know
something about the company. You can
find this information on the company’s web site (check under corporate
