Professor Stephen Carter is the ceramics instructor and currently oversees the running of the ceramics studio. His creative works is sculptural in nature and focuses on the interplay of surface and color on both handbuilt sculptural and vessel forms. His other research interest includes the history of American slave potters and the exploration of culturally diverse source material in contemporary art.
