Kelley Helmstutler Di Dio teaches courses on European art from 1400-1700 as well as the introductory course, Western Art: Ancient to Gothic.

Di Dio received her B.A. from Mary Washington College and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Rutgers University. Di Dio came to UVM from Florence, Italy where she lived for seven years. She taught for the study abroad programs of Union College, University of Rochester, and Rutgers University, before being awarded a three-year Kress Curatorial post-doctoral fellowship at the Medici Archive Project in the state archives in Florence.

Di Dio has published articles and essays on the artistic exchanges between Italy and Spain, collecting practices and display, the status of the artist, and about the Italian artistic community in Spain. She has received grants from Rutgers University, the Samuel H. Kress foundation, and, most recently, the Program for Cultural Cooperation between the Ministry of Arts and Culture in Spain and American Universities.
