An exhibition of recent work by artist Line Bruntse
Danish artist Line Bruntse presents recent works in sculpture, drawing, and photography, in an exhibition at the Colburn Gallery. Beginning with direct concerns of solitude caused by lingual and cultural isolation, Bruntse’s work proposes haptic and material responses to the effects that electronically mediated communication is having on our lives. Here, ‘touch’ as an emotive, metaphorical, implied or actual element of communication is seen as having been altered or rendered obsolete by mediated interaction. Bruntse’s current installations then, present viewers with an opportunity to re-examine the potentials of this non-verbal mode of communication.
