ABOUT THE ARTIST: Kolkata born, Brooklyn based artist Sangram Majumdar has an MFA from Indiana University and a BFA from RISD. He is a Professor of Painting at MICA. Recent group exhibition venues include James Cohan Gallery, Come Together: Surviving Sandy, and Gallery Zürcher. Awards include residencies at MacDowell, Yaddo, the 2009-10 Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program Grant, and a Purchase Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He will have a solo exhibition in March 2017 at Asia Society-Houston.
