Syllabus: Process as Art a TAP class CULTURE
Art as Process is an introduction to creating art using nontraditional methods and concepts. The class focuses on process as an art form in itself as opposed to the creation of a conventional art object such as a painting or sculpture. Process is defined in this class as a series of actions, changes or procedures that convey a specific intent. Students will have an opportunity to explore this definition through the studio practices of performance and installation art. We will also examine the various ways in which artists document their processes.
