Graduates of UVM's anthropology program will be specialists in cultures around the world — in a global society, this makes grads very marketable individuals.
Where the jobs are
Graduates from our program have gone into the following fields, just to name a few:
- media (film, photography, journalism, etc.)
- government employment/research
- historic preservation and archaeology
- environmental work
- health field
- international business
- much, much more.
Many graduates choose to further their area of expertise by continuing their education pursuing a master's degree or Ph.D. Our professors have Ph.D.s from some of the world's best universities (Harvard, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, NYU, University of Pennsylvania, among others) and can help students gain an understanding about what pursuing graduate work in anthropology entails, as well as what their own alma maters offer.
Students with advanced degrees in anthropology can research, teach, write, work in museums and much more.
